Ignalina
In the north-east corner of Lithuania is the Ignalina nuclear power plant. The plant is situated outside the small city of Visanginas (i.e it is not close to the city Ignalina itself).
The reactors have been shut off for quite some time but Lithuania wants to start up the production again while their energy situation is difficult at times, suffering under the Russian gas control.
The local police was not very happy about having a strange motorcycle and a curious driver around their nuclear power plant! I have full respect for that and have thus blurred out all details of the power plant in my photos. I am actually quite satisfied with their fast and efficient control, which is showing that their security is much higher here than for example at the Swedish power plants where rediciolus activists make frequent "stress tests". Respect Lithuania!
